Q. Many people are migrated to other countries each year recently. Immigration has a major impact on society. What are the main reasons for immigration? What consequences can it lead to?

Nowadays, the number of people moving to another country is becoming more and more popular among people and this process leads to a high level of immigration when a person leaves their home country to start life elsewhere. This essay will examine the main causes of this phenomenon and the possible consequences.

To commence with, the major reason for this personal choice is the fact that people are looking for the best opportunities to work and study. In addition, when a person makes this decision, he/she is not only looking for job satisfaction and work-life balance, but also a safe place to live with his children, where there will be security and a better education system. For instance, in metropolitan areas such as Ottawa and New York, the chances of getting a great job at a prestigious company are much higher than in a small town. The more opportunities there are, the better the quality of life.

Furthermore, this process can lead to cities being completely unstructured due to a significant number of people moving to a particular site, in other words, urbanization can change the infrastructure of cities, which will lead to negative consequences. The more people living in the same place, the more cars on the streets, which leads to an increase in greenhouse gas exposure; in addition, noise pollution and lack of green spaces are much more present in big cities due to the progress of globalization. For example, some international studies show that metropolitan centers have more deforested areas compared to smaller areas, as these areas are used to build houses and roads. Strict control is needed to balance both advantages and disadvantages.

To conclude, immigration is presented in our society as people looking for better opportunities, which is an acceptable idea, but at the same time, negative consequences can put the world at risk for the next generation. This essay dealt with the causes and consequences of the immigration process.
