Q.
Some believe that young people should follow the traditions of their society. Others think they should have the right to behave as individuals. Discuss both the perspectives and give your opinion?
People from different societies follow different sets of cultural norms. While some people argue that children should follow the traditions of their community, while other people believe that children should be allowed to follow their instincts independently. This essay will discuss why obedience to the patterns of behavior of one's ethnic group is more important than rebellious behavior.
To commence with, young generations need to be acted upon the rules and norms of a society for upholding social bondage.Since different groups of people have different sets of social rules, it is imperative for an individual to follow the traditions of their culture in order to maintain the unique identity of a community. For instance, Kurta Pyjama, a traditional dresses of the sub-continent, is widely used in Punjab. Wearing this distinct cloth is a symbol of the Punjabi tradition, and it is considered the identity of members of the Punjabi ethnicity. Thus, children must continue the traditions and heritage of their own culture in order to strengthen their connection with other communities within the nation.
On the other hand, in the era of globalization, people often prefer to follow their own rule freely. More precisely, as the world becomes seemingly limitless due to the widespread use of the Internet and satellite communications, the idea of following the norms and customs of a particular area is sometimes considered preposterous. To illustrate, western dresses are more popular than traditional dresses among a great number of public in Punjab. As such, Kurta Pyjama has been gradually losing its popularity and it is sometimes thought of as a backdated dress. Therefore, individuals often choose to follow their own instinct to satisfy their needs rather than follow the rules of the ethnic group.
