Q. The table below shows the percentage of household and electronic goods in New Zealand in 2002 and 2020.

The given table chart illustrates the seven different types of electronic devices used in New Zealand in 2002 and 2020.

On analyzing the data, it becomes clear that in 2002, 97% of households in New Zealand purchased washing machines. This figure was significantly higher than those for color TV and dishwasher (95% and 45% respectively).  After that, both three items showed an increase in the basic need to use, with the most notable increase devoted to dishwashers compared to other items (washing machines, color TVs) at 10%. It was only small grown, ranging from 98% to 99%.

Moving further, we can see that computers, cell phones, digital cameras were using more and more in 2020 as our life is evolving everyday. Video recorders had decreased significantly, from 75% (2002) to 60% (2020); Meanwhile, a reverse pattern was discerned in terms of figures for computers, cellphones, digital cameras, which increased by 38 percent, 18 percent and 60 percent, respectively. It was there that the digital camera was growing the fastest compared to the other two items.

Overall, it is transparent from the chart that high-tech devices were consumed higher during a given tenure. It is also noticeable that while most electronic products saw an upward trend, the opposite was true for video recorder.
