Q. The tables show how many international students studies in Canada and the United States by country of origin.

The given table charts illustrate the data for international students studying in Canada and the United States in 2002 and 2003.

In 2002, Canada had 5,400 international students from China, and the following year that number grew by 45% to 7,850. In contrast, in the US, the number grew by only 6% to 116,600. In both years, more students from China studied in the US India (200,000 in 2002 and 182,000 in 2003, a decrease of -9%), while Canada had fewer despite an increase of 35% (2,100 and 2,835 for each year).

In Canada, the number of American students grew by 9% from 5,000 to 5,450, and in the US, the number of Canadian students grew by a comparable 7% to 33,170. Finally, the total number of international students in all of Canada increased by 17% (more than 11,000) and reached 70,004, while in the United States the figure increased by only 2% to 592,230.

Overall, it is clear that the numbers have increased for all countries except those traveling to the United States from India. Moreover, the US had significantly more international students, although the overall increase was higher in Canada.
