Q. The best way to reduce crime among youngsters is to teach parents good parenting skills. Do you agree or disagree?

Any action that harms another person or group of people is considered a crime. Crimes are committed with the intent to intentionally harm someone. The crime rate among young offenders is definitely on the rise, and the researchers say that crime among young people under the age of 18 has risen by more than 52%. Many believe that this is purely the result of poor parenting and that parents need to be taught skills and abilities better parenting. But I don't totally blame them.

We live in a time and place where society plays an important role in personality formation. Social pressures have both positive and negative effects on the younger generation, as they tend to perceive everything as a sponge. The modern generation has access to a multitude of digital devices with which they can watch or share anything according to their whims and fantasies. Even today, the entertainment industry has become carelessly checking the content they broadcast and labeling it as "U". Genres such as horror, science fiction, and more now show scenes of cold-blooded murder, rape, and other crimes and are treated as yet another piece of the film. News broadcasting channels are no better as they show disturbing content including videos, photos, controversial interviews that haunt young minds and make them ruthless.

Some dictators may believe that parents have sole control over their children and that better parenting skills will make them better children. Parents can influence children to a certain extent and can instill a good value system in their child, but other factors, such as friends, bad company, society, digital media, also play a vital role in creating dramatic changes in a child's thinking.

To conclude, I disagree with the idea that parenting education to parents is the only way to reduce crime rates among young offenders. However, it can be one step towards achieving the goal of creating a better thought process in our younger generation.

Q. Some people believe that sports play an important role in society. Others, however, feel that for some it is nothing more than entertainment. Discuss both the perspectives and give your opinion.

These days, there has been a positive trend that the sports has gained more popularity in society. However, others believe that sports are just a leisure activity. In my point of view, both ideas have the credibility that I will elaborate in the upcoming paragraphs.

First of all, it is an undeniable fact that sport is important to society for a number of reasons. One reason is that people can be healthier than ever before. By exercising frequently, people can excrete toxic elements from their bodies to help the government save health insurance money for residents. For example, the incidence of obesity and heart attacks has dropped significantly globally today due to sports.

Another reason is that the younger generation can develop healthy habits. With the rapid development of technology, they tend to engage in sedentary activities such as playing computer games and socializing on social media. If parents encourage their children to exercise rather than play at home, children can improve their social interaction with peers. However, there are opposite arguments, according to which sport is nothing more than leisure.  It is true that sports can be viewed as leisure activities because not everyone has the capability and potential to become professional athletes. Therefore, people usually consider it a simple activity to relax their mind and body while on vacation. In addition, many families see sports as a way to reinforce a sense of belonging to relatives, especially for children, because parents spend more time on work and less care for them.

In conclusion, all things considered, while some people think that sport is just part of their leisure time, I still believe that sport plays an important role in society because it has brought benefits to people in terms of health and social life.
