Q. Human activity has had a negative impact on plants and animals around the world. Some people believe that it is too late to do something while others believe that actions can be taken to improve the situation. Discuss both the perspectives and give your opinion.
There is no doubt that some of our activities have a detrimental effect on our planet. While some people believe that nothing can be done to address the negative impact of human activities on wildlife, I strongly argue that several measures can be taken to address this issue.
To inaugurate with, some people believe that the destructive impact of some of our actions on wildlife cannot be reversed. In their opinion, this is due to the fact that many species of plants and animals have already disappeared from our world and it is impossible to return them. For instance, in 2018 a United Nations study showed that several species have disappeared from our ecosystem due to deforestation. This clearly shows the depth of the negative impact of our activities on wildlife. So, according to these people, nothing can be done to reverse the problem.
However, I insist that there are many measures that governments and individuals can take to stop the negative impact our activities are having on our planet. Above all, governments around the world must unite to tackle deforestation. This is because it is the main reason for the extinction of endangered species. For example, the South African government outlawed deforestation in 2017, and the results since then have been impressive: many species have been saved from extinction and soil erosion has been stopped. As a result, endangered species are no longer disturbing their habitat and crop production has increased. Humans can also spread the word about the devastating impact some of our actions are having on the planet. Obviously, there are many more things we can do to fix this problem.
To conclude, I definitely argue that there are several things that governments and individuals can do to stop human activities that are devastating to our planet. Outlawing deforestation and spreading awareness among people about the need to protect wildlife are the actions that need to be taken.
