Q. The chart below shows the amount of energy generated from wind in four countries from 1985 to 2000.

This bar chart compares wind energy production in four countries: India, Denmark, Germany, and the United States between 1985 and 2000.

In 1985, the United States generated about 1200 megawatts of power from wind. Wind power production in India and Denmark was similar at about 200 megawatts and almost twice that from wind in Germany. In India and Denmark, there was a substantial increase over a period of 15 years, and in 2000, India generated approximately 1200 megawatts from wind, while Denmark generated about 1600 megawatts from wind.

Germany also saw growth, but not as much as India and Denmark, and had about 900 megawatts of wind energy production in 2000. The United States was an exception as its energy production increased to 1,650 megawatts before 1990, but its production has since fallen slightly by about 100 megawatts over the last five years.

Overall, initially the USA was the leader in the production of wind energy, but over time, all countries except the USA have shown a significant increase in wind energy production. In addition, Denmark experienced the most significant expansion of any of the countries listed.
