Q. Many customs and traditional behaviors are no longer relevant to modern life and are not worth keeping. Do you agree or disagree?
In the modern era, it is widely believed in many parts of the world that customs and traditions have lost their meaning in this fast paced life. While there are certainly strong arguments against this, I personally believe that the cultural heritage of nations requires improvement for the sake of better relations within nations and families. This essay will take a closer look at two main reasons why I strongly agree with the need to change traditional ways of thinking.
TO commence with, the most important reason is that inherited traditions have become an obstacle to the socialization of people of different ethnic groups. In other words, if each nation strives to preserve its customs, the world will suffer from global wars, especially when the borders between countries are erased. This is evidenced by the social media platforms that have enabled the rapid transfer of information between different countries. It can therefore be said that traditional behavior patterns must be radically changed to meet the demands of globalization.
Moreover, poor observance of inherited traditions creates conflicts between families, because the current generation thinks completely differently. This means that when the breadwinners begin to change their outdated views, they will be able to communicate more effectively with their younger ones, and such a huge gap between generations will be overcome. An obvious example of this is parenting courses, where caregivers are taught to let go of old thoughts and stay up to date with the latest news. Ultimately, I would say that since the current generation has special needs, caregivers need to understand their needs.
In conclusion, the above points have been made in this essay, it can be emphasized once again that excessive preservation of traditions worsens communication not only between nations but also within families. Therefore, I am convinced that parents should solve this problem by attending programs on raising children.
