Q. The table chart below shows the number of people taking part in a wildlife survey in Britain between 2001 and 2009.
The given table chart illustrates information about the number of individuals (adults and children), who participated in a survey about wildlife in Britain from 2001 to 2009.
On
analysing the data, it is evident from the graph that the total number of participants grew more than eleven folds from 2001 to 2009. The number increased from 48,000 to 540,000 in the given tenure. The number of adults escalated from 36,000 in 2001 to 212,000 in 2003, which was the largest increase ever. In 2005 it reached 332,000, after which the number of adults started to decline and in 2009 only 240,000 participated in the survey.
A similar upward trend in the number of participants was observed in children from 2001 to 2003, although the number of children was much smaller than that of adults. But after that, the numbers children begin to drop. Surprisingly, in 2009 the number of children who took part in the survey skyrocketed to 270,000, an increase of nine times. The total number of adults and children participating in 2009 was equal to 270,000 each.
Overall, the number of adult participants far exceeded the number of children in all given years, except in 2009, in which both categories participated in equal numbers.
