Q. The charts below show the percentage of people working in different sectors in town A and town B in 1960, and 2010.

The pie charts compare the proportion of workers in three sectors, including manufacturing, sales, and services, in town A and town B in 1960 and 2010.

In town A, 41% of all jobs in 1960 were in manufacturing, while the sales and service sectors accounted for a much smaller percentage, about 30% each. By 2010, the proportion of service-related jobs had more than doubled, while the percentage of jobs in the other two industries had halved.

In town B, the percentage of service-related jobs also increased, but less significantly than that of town A, with 10% in 1960 and 25% in 2010. Meanwhile, the figure for manufacturing jobs was still highest, at 53% in 2010, despite a drop of almost a third. Sales-related jobs slightly rose, from 20% in 1960 to 22% in 2010.

Overall, in town A, jobs in the service sector have become more popular than in other sectors and accounted for the largest percentage in 2010. Meanwhile, in town B, despite the growth in service and sales sectors, manufacturing jobs still accounted for the majority of jobs over the given tenure.
